NELSON KENNELS

We are a family that loves Golden Retrievers. We are not your typical dog breeder. These puppies are whelped and raised in our home. They are socialized and given every opportunity to learn what they can before they leave to go to their new home. That includes getting them outside to begin to learn house training. They also are introduced to different environments that stimulate their brain development.

PUPPY CONTRACT

Each of our puppies come with a guarantee against any health defects. They will have their first set of shots, dew claw will be removed, and will have a complete puppy packet. Here is a sample guarantee that will go home with your puppy:

All puppies carry a twenty-seven month congenital health guarantee. This covers hip, eye, and heart defects. Although this does not guarantee that your puppies will be free of health defects, we try very hard to produce sound healthy puppies. The promise of this guarantee comes with some stipulations.

You must care for your puppy at all times. This means regular vet visits, all shots must be administered.
You must feed your puppy a quality dog food. Do not overfeed as this will lead to stress on joints and skeletal damage.
Your dog must have fresh clean water at all times.
You must provide adequate shelter for your dog. This includes but is not limited to: freedom from extreme heat or cold, adequate protection from the elements, protection from ticks, fleas, flies, bees, mosquitoes, etc. We suggest you use a topical product for ticks, and an oral product for heartworm.
You must give the dog adequate exercise. These dogs love to run and play and it is necessary for their proper development to get exercise.
If you do these things your puppy should live a long and healthy life. If for some reason your dog develops hip, eye, or heart condition within the first 27 months we will gladly refund to you the purchase price of the dog.

ON PICK-UP DAY

All puppies go home at seven weeks of age. A $500 deposit is required to hold a puppy for you. At the time of pick up, you will go home with the following items:

OUR GIRLS

Presently we have three OFA approved and certified females that we use in our breeding program. We strive hard to create puppies that have the classic field golden look, size and color. Most of our dogs will be medium to darker red, with a desire to retrieve and please their owners. We use our dogs to hunt both upland and waterfowl.

REBA is a hard charging 48 pound bundle of energy. She has great drive, is a phenomenal marker, and an awesome family pet. She has a JH AKC hunting title.

GINGER is a very dark red dog with a JH hunt test title and all of her health certifications. Ginger has been used as a guide dog at local game farms and she has all the drive needed to produce great puppies that will hunt all day long, but still be a great pet inside the house.

RANDI is a medium golden color with a JH title and all her health clearances. We call her rocket Randi because she is extremely fast and agile. Her ability to find birds or race to the nearest bumper has earned her the title "rocket." Her fun personality makes her a great dog to have in the house. Her drive and energy makes for a wonderful hunting companion. She has already had well over 1,000 birds shot over her and she is a fine retriever.

OUR STUD DOGS

We currently do not own any stud dogs, but use approved studs that meet the demands of Nelson Kennels and our customers.

BRODY is great dog with a master hunter title and a proven field dog. He is comfortable in the duck blind waiting for a retrieve or in the cattails searching for a rooster.

ARCHER has a ton of talent and desire! He is an intense retriever that marks extremely well and is very trainable. He is currently training for Master Hunt Tests and Qualifyings. He will have an exciting future as both a Hunt Test and Field Trial dog.

COLT is an extremely well-bred bred golden with outstanding grandsires in Yeti and Hawk. He passed his first Master Hunter test at the age of 19 months and finished his title as a two-year old. He is hard-charging in the field and calm as can be in the house. He has matured at 65 lbs and is a beautiful dark red.
